If you were a Jonas Gray owner, I really don’t feel for you because these are the New England Patriots we’re talking about. Bill Belichick is known for poopooing all over the hopes and dreams of fantasy football players who own New England running backs. I would grab Blount on the off chance he closes this season the way he closed the 2013 season, but I wouldn’t be looking to insert him directly into your lineup without more of a sample size.
Johnson has almost undeniably become the #1 option in Minnesota. He has freakish athletic talent that he showed in preseason, and has put up back to back decent games garnering 9 grabs on 18 targets for 139 yards 1 touchdown and 1 two point conversion.
Pierre Thomas was probably dropped in many leagues after he got hurt, so if you’re in need of some flex help in PPR leagues down the stretch, you could probably do worse than Thomas. The ceiling is limited, but if you’re looking for a safe 10 points he can probably give you that.
Now is the time to own handcuffs. I’m not one who ever goes out of his way to draft handcuffs, but as you head towards the playoffs depth becomes less important. You will be in much worse shape if you’re downgrading from Eddie Lacy to some RB3/4 than from Eddie Lacy to James Starks.
